It’s not possible for the outcome of the food to be described on the menu or by me. It’s in the details is an understatement. Phenomenal! Simple menu, however, frequent menu changeovers for those that like variety. Chef Sarah’s passion pours into her food as well as her service. Don’t sleep on Camas, make your reservation now!

I cannot even put words together for the food here. Delicious, well balanced flavors and can tell heart and soul was put into cooking. Just out of this world. I wish we could give more than five stars.

Truly a remarkable dining experience! Fine dining but with a relaxed welcoming atmosphere. We went with a group to celebrate a birthday. Sara was absolutely fantastic and gave thorough recommendations explaining their dishes with passion and detail. Every bite was divine. We cannot wait to go back! There is not much like (if anything) on the central island!

Sarah is the kindest, funnest, bestest hostess and extraordinary chef. How lucky is Lantzville to have Camas. Sarah listened with genuine grace to my family’s desire to just a proper high tea as a celebration of life for our mother. Her suggestions and willingness to serve 72 guests fish and chips all at the same time was outstanding. All of the food was superb and the atmosphere was perfect, warm, friendly and so beautiful. Never to be forgotten was the lavish Easter Sunday dinner our family also enjoyed after spreading our parents ashes. What a relief to find Sarah ready for us all with sparkling wine, canapés, and then traditional roast beef, Yorkshire ours and all the trimmings. And the best best trifle! We are still enjoying the leftovers, beautifully wrapped and shared with us to go. Sarah and crew, you are in our hearts.

Everything about our experience at Camas was exceptional. The atmosphere was cozy, comfortable, and feels like having dinner at a good friend's house. The service is incredible. They have a small team, but regardless who you speak with, they are welcoming, engaging, informed and seen to be genuinely happy to be there. We never felt smothered, but someone happened to pop by any time we could have needed anything. And the food... Wow. The food is incredible. We've been twice, and have enjoyed the three-course dinner both times, and every morsel was incredible. Even the steamed broccoli had some kind of seasoning (roasted garlic and onion flakes, perhaps?) that made every bite an addictive adventure. And unlike other fine dining experiences where you pay through the nose for a dime-sized meal, you will be lucky (or determined) to finish. Camas is a wonderful blend of fine dining and casual coziness that you can only seem to find on Vancouver Island. I wore an outfit that I wouldn't dream of wearing to anything but a casual restaurant in Vancouver, but wasn't at all or of place or underdressed. It's not the kind of place that I could afford to go on a regular basis (~$130/person), but for a special occasion, there's no other place like it.
